Quest for Success!

November 12th, 2008

Well, we are off to a great start this school year!  The DNS Men are truly taking full responsibility for their success!  This year’s theme is “Quest for Success” and that is our everyday motto as a DNS family!  We are continuing to offer a great course schedule for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students which include Latin, Spanish I & II, World Religion, Old Testament, New Testament, Africa/Asia/Australia, S. America/Europe, and N. Americal/US History, Physical/Earth/Life Sciences, Arts Exploration, and Healthful Living/PE.  The students have an opportunity to maximize their learning in their core subjects with 90 minute blocks of class time and 45 minute blocks of class time in ancillary subjects.  In addition, they receive 1 hour of Homework Help Mondays – Wednesdays with volunteer and peer tutors.  Finally, we are continuing our extended day enrichment with Team Sports, Arts Enrichment (Durham Arts Council), Weekly Community Service, and Friday Clubs!

What an exciting time we are having at DNS!  I am so grateful to all of our families, volunteers, faculty/staff, students, and board members for making this school year’s “Quest for Success” such an adventurous journey!  Let’s all roll up our sleeves and charge forward with vigor and passion to develop the leadership potential in each and every one of our DNS Men!  Onward with the quest!
